Hajdu Tamas is a Romanian street and documentary photographer known for his ability to capture real-life moments with an artistic and thought-provoking approach. Trained as a veterinarian, his passion for visual storytelling led him to document the unique atmosphere of post-communist neighborhoods and everyday urban life.
His work has been shortlisted at the Sony World Photography Awards 2013, recognized as a finalist at Lens Culture Exposure Awards and Exibart Street, and awarded Best Street Photographer at the Romanian Visual Awards 2024. Hajdu’s photography has been exhibited internationally, including at the Spotlight Romania Show (The Hague, Netherlands), Robert Capa Center (Istanbul), and PHOTO IS:RAEL 2019. His images have also been featured in leading publications such as National Geographic, The Guardian, Vice, and La Repubblica.
A member of FUTURES—European Photography Platform, Hajdu approaches photography as a fine art documentary, blending creativity with reality to offer a fresh perspective on urban life. His tool of choice is the Ricoh GR3X, a compact yet powerful camera that allows him to stay mobile and spontaneous. He jokes that since using the GR3X, his bag has become his pocket.
