By converting it to more stable and archival silver selenide, this toner helps in preserving the prints for a longer time.
When used with warm-tone papers, it produces cool chocolate-brown hues, with neutral-tone papers, it results in purplish brown tones and very little or no effect on cold-tone papers.
For optimum print protection, it is recommended to use a 1:20 dilution of the toner. If you want to increase the shadow contrast and maximum density with a minimum tone change, then either a 1:20 or 1:40 dilution can be used. You can also use this toner with black and white film.
