Getting started with macro photography? If you don’t have a dedicated macro lens, a close-up filter/lens is an affordable and easy to use macro accessory that shortens the lens minimum focusing distance (MOD). Simply put, the longer focal length you have on the lens, the greater magnification and imaging scale you get.
Natural night filters
When shooting night photography, especially cityscapes, the photos often tends to get a yellowish tone which come from the surrounding city lights. You can correct the white balance in the image, but you often loose some in the other hand. A natural night filter is therefore extremely grateful, since it neutralizes the fluorescent lights and the image get true to life colours.
ND filters, also known as Neutral Density filters, helps you prolong the shutter speed for instance when shooting during daytime. They help you control image exposure by reducing the light that enters the camera.
Polarizing filters are the landscape photographer’s best friend. One of the biggest frustrations when you are shooting landscapes is the lack of color in the image. The sunlight has a tendency of bouncing over the atmosphere which can reflect into your camera. That unwanted reflection can make your photographs bland and lifeless. A polarizing filter is capable of cutting out most of the reflected light in a scene, and thereby instantly enhancing resulting photographs by increasing color saturation and contrast.
UV filters are used to minimize reflections and are also an affordable insurance for your lens, since it protects the front lens from dust, scratches and smudges. Therefore, it should always be mounted on the lens.
Protector filters protect the front lens from impact, dust, scratches and smudges.
A step-up ring is a metal ring that enables you to use a filter with a wider-diameter thread size than the lens on which you want to mount it on.
