Extreme 5–10X magnification
The zoom ring moves through the full 5–10X range without requiring refocusing, and the lens barrel remains fixed. The 22.48 mm working distance helps keep the camera, subject and lighting arrangement stable while magnification changes. Laowa describes the Aksen 5–10X as the world’s first commercially available zoom macro lens above 5X.
APO optics with coaxial lighting support
Laowa’s apochromatic design suppresses chromatic aberration and colour fringing, which become more visible at extreme magnification. This version adds coaxial illumination support and can be paired with the optional Laowa USB coaxial light for more even, low-shadow illumination. The optical construction uses 17 elements in 12 groups and an 11-blade aperture with an f/1.7–f/5.6 range.
