Extreme 5–10X magnification
The zoom ring moves through the full 5–10X range without requiring refocusing, and the lens barrel remains fixed. The 22.48 mm working distance helps keep the camera, subject and lighting arrangement stable while magnification changes. Laowa describes the Aksen 5–10X as the world’s first commercially available zoom macro lens above 5X.
Fast aperture and APO correction
Laowa’s apochromatic design suppresses chromatic aberration and colour fringing, which become more visible at extreme magnification. The 17-element, 12-group optical construction uses an 11-blade aperture with an f/1.7–f/5.6 range and manual focus for precise control.
